Kung Fu San Soo

Jarrad Arbuckle brings over 25 years of experience in Kung Fu San Soo, having trained under Grandmaster Bill Lassiter and Dave Weeks, both first-generation instructors under founder Jimmy H. Woo. His approach to San Soo is rooted in practicality: a system built on body mechanics, leverage, striking, takedowns, and functional application. Through Fight Elevator, his mission goes beyond instruction. He is committed to preserving the integrity of the art while evolving its delivery for modern self defense, ensuring it continues to serve the next generation with purpose and relevance.

Knife & Edged Weapons

With over 20 years of dedicated study in knife fighting and edged weapons, Jarrad has built a deep and diverse foundation across multiple systems. His training includes Filipino martial arts (Kali) under the lineage of Ron Balicki, the South African Piper system associated with Nigel February, as well as Silat and Lajolo knife fighting. He has maintained an extensive training relationship over the past 8 years with Ed Calderon, and has trained alongside instructors such as Paulo Rubio. Jarrad holds Journeyman rank under Scott Babb in Libre Fighting and leads the Los Angeles chapter. His knife program is built on respect for the blade, intelligent structure, footwork, timing, pressure testing, and real-world application. He was taught from decades of serious, hands on experience rather than theory.
